I was sent to Ike's based on a recommendation from someone who was in the Austin transmission business for many years. The staff is professional, educated and customer focused. They are very detailed in the analysis of the problem before making recommendations to the customer on the possible solutions and cost. Their recommendations are focused on the best value for the customer and not the 'largest' sale for the shop. While the shop is small the bays were always full and the workers were always busy under the racks. The shop provides some free services while the chain stores charge for things like reading an engine code. The shop recommends a reasonable set of repairs, where the chain stores give you a list of things that they 'recommend' which is so large that you are convinced the vehicle is on its last leg. Ike's is a store which is run by folks with honesty and integrity. I would recommend this store for transmission and general auto repairs.

I am now a dedicated Ike's fan!!! I was recommended to Ike's by a friend of mine that doesn't usually have the best taste when it comes to repair shops, but he definitely pointed me in the right direction when he told me to go to Ike's. I was having issues with my tranny hitting really hard when I would put it into reverse & on the highway when I would punch on the gas to go from drive into overdrive. I made an appointment & literally the afternoon that I showed up, my front right brakes started smoking like crazy! They asked me if I could leave it with them, so that they could look it over & let me know what they found, but I didn't have a ride home. After talking with them about the situation, I knew it was probably best to leave it, so I mentioned where I lived & THEY DROVE ME HOME AT RUSH HOUR! ;D I just picked my truck up today & they greased the calipers of my 4x4 (no easy task), adjusted my throttle, & told me that later on down the line that I'd need to get my differential taken care of. The BEST part - they didn't charge me for ANY of it! They just told me not to worry about the little things & to just come back about the differential. Seriously - I could NOT be HAPPIER about going to them! Plus, they don't just work on tranny's anymore - they do it all! So if you're looking for a reputable mechanic shop that isn't trying to pry your 1st born out of you, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!!

I have had to use them several times over the years for big and small repairs and have always been able to count on an honest job, and only repairs that were necessary for my individual situation.
